In the near future, artificial intelligence has been used to help monitoring and maintenance in places like retirement homes. Izzy Brodski, a retired electrical engineer with a heart condition, is forced to move out of his home by his son Aaron. With juggling long work hours while preparing the house for the birth of his son, Aaron finds he is having trouble caring for his father and believes an automated retirement home is the answer. Aaron's pregnant wife, Claire, convinces Izzy that life at Steel House will be fine and they will visit often. But after meeting Ellen, one of the home's longest residents, he realizes it may be too late to patch things up with his son.
