This documentary short about traditional West African dancing, takes place in Senegal, West Africa in the Fall of 2011. Africa is a place I call home and would like to share my experiences with you through this film. I show clips of a National Dance company in Senegal rehearsing and I am able to share scenes of my dance lessons, speak about the history of traditional West African dances, and explain the culture behind them. I also share personal anecdotes of my time in Senegal, how I was treated, and how I communicated with my instructor through dance.
