Many myths and legends surround the religion which we are going to tell you about in our film. Some of its ceremonies are shrouded in mystery. This religion was founded several centuries ago in Western Africa and then crossed the Atlantic via ships carrying slaves, spreading to territories as diverse as Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica, Brazil and the US. Today there are more than 50 million followers all over the world. But the cradle of this religion is Benin, formerly Dahomey. The film invites you to follow suit and try to lift the shroud of mystery around the Benin voodoo cult and its most entertaining ceremonies. The plot will revolve around a boy who pass a puberty rite in order to become faithful voodoo priest!
