From Prison to Hollywood: Soul Survivor (2012)

This is a documentary about Jason Rodriguez turning his life around after incarceration. Jason was arrested, charged and sentenced as an adult in The Bronx at the age of 16 to a maximum sentence to 8 1/3 to 25 years for Manslaughter. Jason is an only child and did not know what would be the outcome while incarcerated and after being released. Jason appeared in front of five parole hearings and was denied parole all five times. While incarcerated Jason lost both of his parents and ended up serving 16 years and 8 months on a conditional release. Arrested in 1988 and released in 2005 he did not know what would be the outcome. After 9 months after being released, Jason was asked to Audition for the motion picture Pride and Glory and was cast for his first principle role. On Parole for 8 years Jason has been in films as an actor, producer, director, motivational speaker, community activist and author. His accomplishments were mostly done while on parole which he completed successfully and continues to be a positive role model
